I have FINALLY finished all of the houses I NEEDED (well, wanted anyway) to run the Battlefront Villers-Bocage scenario. I set up all the terrain/houses/roads last night just to see how it looks. I posted the pictures at my blogsite at: link I have a mixture of various manufacturer's houses, so the pictures show off their compatibility. My son and I have painted all the forces as well, so I just have to wait until he gets back from college to play. Too bad there is no spring break at his college! |

What you have achieved here is truly fantastic. A battle table worthy of the attention of all and very desirable to play on. So good. |

Awesome! I mean, seriously WOW! almost a shame to have that hiding in your basement instead of taking it out to a convention somewhere

Thanks for everyone's comments. It does look really neat; I can't wait to play the scenario. Lion in the Star: I do have the long range plan of bringing it to a convention though I need to work out some of the scenario kinks to make sure it is balanced and workable. I am a bit concerned that the narrow streets will cause the scenario to end on turn two after a couple of burning Cromwells block the streets. |

That really does look like a great table to play on panzerCDR. Have you thought about adding some sort of side walk to your blocks, 1/2 or 1" walkway between the buildings and road? That might give you more space on those streets that look too tight. |

That's a good idea. I could probably make them out of balsa or thin plywood and paint them some sort of concrete color. They would be slightly lower than the roads but give a little more room for the tank meelee. Any other thoughts on making sidewalks? Thanks. |

I was wondering what the excitement was about when I saw the first pic
.. Then I scrolled down. Nice! |

I have a roll of "shelf liner" that might do the trick. It is a rubbery material and very easy to cut and work with. It comes in different textures and I have seen the different textures used as asphalt type pavement and as cobblestone. I am thinking I picked mine up at Home Depot or Lowes for $2 USD or $3. USD It is so inexpensive that you could cut it out just an inch or so wider than your roads and then slide it under the road in the areas you wanted side walk. That would guarantee that it didn't slip around on you and make sure the road was raised a bit. If I remember correctly I read about it on the Ambush Alley Forum so you might check over there for more ideas and/or pictures. My regular opponent and I have been discussing a similar project, we will have to keep an eye on your blog and see what we can steal
er learn from you! |

Hi panzerCDR really nice setup and thats a great collection of buildings you have there
I've a similar street setup using JR Miniatures street roads (Ibelieve thats what your using too
I just repainted mine) and I've cut up some of the larger mats your using for the square to use as narrow pavements either side of the main street road
it wides the streets sufficiently to allow larger Tanks to pass each other
I've a few photos to demonstrate: Last one probably shows it best

VERY nice Panda, the road signs are a nice touch too! |

Bigdan: good idea. I'll take a look at Wal*Mart next time I go. Grey Panda: Wow! Your setup is outstanding. I like mine for the sheer mass of buildings, but you have all the details down. I love the signs. My hats off to you. My roads are JR Miniatures though with the shifting of ownership of that company it is a tad hard to find the roads or mats. Based on your inspiring pictures it's worth another try. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration! |

Thank you guys-Well panzerCDR you've all the real hard work already done and I have to say I've really enjoyed adding the little bits and pieces of the detail once I got the basics together. BigDan's idea sounds very interesting, I might be having a look i Walmart myself By the way panzer, if you get the chance it would be great to see an AAR of the eventual game! |

Will do. This will be a while as noted above, but I look forward to recording it and posting it on the net. I will put some pictures of the forces we will use in the meantime in the town as it just looks neat. |

Wow, that looks stunning. |

Great job. Just one suggestion
Don't send the pics to your son. He may drop out of school just to come home and play. Have a blast!!! |

Thanks to all. I am continuing to post pictures of the forces that will fight it out on the table on the blog. panzercdr.blogspot.com I have done the Germans; next up are the Brits. I looked at all the tanks my son painted for the 4 CLY and it looks pretty good, even for Cromwells. |
