Just a quick review of the Beasts and Barbarians role playing setting and my expanded map for same. How many of you lot roleplay and wargame? I have found both hobbies run pretty much in parallel with me – sometimes one is ahead of the other in terms of my time.

Yeah, they leap frog for me as well… wargames were on top for a while but some folks moved out of town so now it's RPGs (different group) and solo battles of 5150 until my WHFB opponent gets back from sabbatical.
This setting looks interesting. The artwork is a good fit. It's Savage Worlds though, not my favorite system… but it might have some ideas I could yank for a BRP-based sword and sorcery game.

A lot of good ideas and the pdfs don't cost much so the investment is not wasted.

I have meandered into Warhammer FB in no small part because the single-based figures can double for role playing and I always enjoyed the Warhammer RPG universe anyway.

Looks promising, Savage Worlds is suited to OTT genres like pulp fantasy but I rarely find the default worlds in these games as convincing as Hyboria or historical settings. Barbarians of Lemuria is a bespoke S&S system. thats worth a look also.

I might give that a look as well. Thanks. B&B is a genre setting by a third party publisher using Savage Worlds. I agree that Hyboria is the best S&S setting out there. In this case I really wanted something that the players did not already know.

Just bought the soft cover rules. (on sale)

Pros: great background, new edges etc and genre modifications that make sense, AN INDEX!

Cons: some more effort could have gone into checking grammar and English. Not unreadable but just makes you stumble a bit when reading.

Well worth the investment.
