I've just uploaded new photos of my 1806 project plus a WSS Bavarian unit I've completed.

The Bavarians look great. It looks like you used Front Rank Brits for the figs? And you just painted on button-hole lace?

urgh. The Prussians look great too, it's just WSS is more of my thing….

Are those extra pikes or flag pole for the Bavarians? Both units look very well painted.

Thanks for sharing.

idontbelieveit,

Yes, I used Front Rank Brits for most of the figures since the French figures don't match up with how the Bavarians were uniformed and I just painted in the button hole lace.

redmist,

Those pikes/flag poles will be used for the flags when I get a chance to order them next month (unless I find a job sooner!). The Bavarians, like many other nations during the WSS had more than one or two flags per battalion. Most times I like to have the flag pole attached when I prime the figure so I have less of a chance of damaging it. I leave them 'long' so I can trim them once the flag is put on the pole. The nice thing about using the Flag Dude is he'll have the flag all prepped, all I have to do is slip it over the pole and glue it place.

I really like the blue that you used on the Bavarians.

Nicely done then. I look forward to seeing the Flag Dude cloth flags. I've only seen the paper ones and am not really fond of the wadded up look.

idontbelieveit,

If you look through some of the older entries on my blog you'll see some photos of his cloth flags.
