I like the pattern on the axe blade. I've often wondered about something like that whilst painting Vikings. Very cool!
Dare I ask what the runes mean? Perhaps R and L for Right and Left?

I never subscribed to the female dwarves have beards mythos even though that was Tolkien's original idea. I will confess that Terry Pratchett had a lot of fun with the concept in the Disk World books.
