the lcvp was used by the americans whilst the lca was a gb design, crewed by royal navy crew that carried us troops, i do not think the us actualy used the lca itself. but i stand to be corrected. |

Yes, Cardinal, that's a RN crew not a USN crew, but they are carrying US soldiers. |

The US Rangers rode in some LCA's. I use both for my D-Day skirmish landings. link David G. |

For my Dog Green sector game that I used to run, we used the book Beyond the Beachhead for reference. They had a table that showed the wave, what unit was in it, what landing craft they were delivered in and what time they were to hit the beach. For the first 3 or 4 waves they are either all or majority LCA's. The waves after that are a majority of LCVP and LCM. |
