What was the most common small landing craft used at Normandy by US forces, the LCVP or the LCA?

Thanks.

the lcvp was used by the americans whilst the lca was a gb design, crewed by royal navy crew that carried us troops, i do not think the us actualy used the lca itself.
but i stand to be corrected.

as i stated, an lca crewed by royal navy carrying us troops.

Yes, Cardinal, that's a RN crew not a USN crew, but they are carrying US soldiers.

The US Rangers rode in some LCA's. I use both for my D-Day skirmish landings.

For my Dog Green sector game that I used to run, we used the book Beyond the Beachhead for reference. They had a table that showed the wave, what unit was in it, what landing craft they were delivered in and what time they were to hit the beach. For the first 3 or 4 waves they are either all or majority LCA's. The waves after that are a majority of LCVP and LCM.
