My Club got into a conversation last week over how many of those clear stand pegs we should be using.

Some wanted one, some liked two.

Which do you prefer when you play?
1) One Peg
2) Two pegs
3) I don't care, just as long as everybody is using the same
4) I just don't care and roll the dice already!

I only use one as I store them on the stands. Two just is too much and not worth the effort unless it is tied up with the MF or Slave one. I can always make those higher if need be.

I am working on telescopic stands to add a 3rd dimension anyway so I will be changing over down the road.

I also like using just one as I always have extras if I need them.

One's probably a good option, so you have some spares.

3-D is great fun, for these, and for the larger, diecast minis. Can't wait to do Galactica in 3-D – it's going to be awesome.

Just need to get some more magnets on the diecast fighters, and to make some maneuver templates for them.

You can see a few pics of my stands on the BSG Yahoo Group, showing them in use with both BSG and Star Wars diecast fighters.

I use two, then remove a peg if the fighters are in base contact with the MF; this places even the TIES beneath the MF and out of contact with the model. I haven't tried the opposite approach (one peg for all, add a peg if contacting MF), so I don't know whether the TIEs could "soar above" the MF instead.

I do a mix to give the look a bit of dimension.

Pegs? Oh those little stick things that came with the stands that I threw out :) All mine are on 2" Omni-stand rods with Sphere Mag add-ons. I take that back. Most of them are on those. I don't play enough so I keep stealing from my game box to fill orders. I need to restock that.

I use 1 for the fighters and also store them assembled. More stable during game play too.

2 for the big ships so the fighters can fit under any overhanging bits. Custom freighters will go on stands that are high enough for a TIE fighter on one peg to pass underneath any parts of the freighter that overhangs its own base.

I also use a mix.

I prefer 1 but sometimes 2 for TIEs
