Just trying something out, really easy. Tell me what you like, or don't like.

Thx!

Looks good to me. How did you make them?

Gunbird06 Apr 2013 11:10 a.m. PST

I'll do a tutorial on them soon, but I used left over bases, toothpicks, aluminium foil and clump foliage.

CPBelt06 Apr 2013 11:23 a.m. PST

Looks good. The trunks could do with some paint, unless you want dogwoods.

Gunbird06 Apr 2013 11:31 a.m. PST

Well, the bases are not painted and flocked yet! :)

(I propably should have noted that in the text though)

Kmfisher06 Apr 2013 11:44 a.m. PST

I really like these, great job!

Looking forward to the tutorial.

Would love to see a tut !

Pedrobear06 Apr 2013 10:23 p.m. PST

Looks good.

Have you considered making a "canopy" type forest for larger areas?

Pedrobear, thats a bloody excellent idea. I will do that for the larger areas, though I will stick to using toothpicks instead of nails. I hope to show some results soon.

Really should have thought about this, I've made the tops before as islands/hills in microscale and then forgot all about them.

Pedrobear07 Apr 2013 9:03 a.m. PST

I saw the idea in an old issue of Miniatures Wargames (I think) and that left an impression – seeing your trees reminded me and I googled and found that nice tutorial. :)

Rrobbyrobot07 Apr 2013 11:47 a.m. PST

That canopy idea is pretty cool. Thanks Pedrobear. And I like your individual trees as well, Gunbird. Makes me wish my old eyes would've let me continue in microscale.

I never would have thought of balled up aluminum foil, thanks for the idea.I have put many, many practical ideas from TMP to use!

Just made some of these trees it's quick and easy to do and they look pretty good. Thanks for the idea.

I just finished some canopy woods based on the link above. They really look the part. Some individual bases would be handy to.

rovens22 May 2013 12:35 p.m. PST

Tutorial please.

Very cool, I really like the canopy forest idea, that is really neat!
