1/72 Italeri French Guard Horse artillery and Limber. My favorite French uniforms of the era, only rivaled by the "Hussars of the sea" (Marines of the Guard)!

These were painted by a very talented Dutch gentleman for me about 4 years ago and came of the shelf in the study for a first time photo session today. I mainly collect and game in 15mm`s, making a dash into 6mm`s as well these days, so these guys never got the attention they deserved I am afraid:(

BTW: Not before photographing them today did I notice the rather disturbed look on the face of the officers horse:)!!

Beautiful stuff!

Looks like Zvezda light infantry in the background, with a bunch of elites in busby head swaps. Is that correct?

Dr Jeckyll06 Apr 2013 11:06 a.m. PST

Correct Widowson! Well close enough anyway..:)The ones in the second picture are Zvezdas French Legere Voltiguers, excellent figures IMO and some of the best Zvezda made (alongside their French foot arty. set). The ones in the first picture are HaT`s Legere Voltiguers in Busby, also a very nice set.
I (also) have a weak spot for Light infantry skirmishing and probably have way to many skirmishers compared to any other figures I have;)

Dr J,
Great looking figures!! Our you selling these to change to another size or just reducing the plastic pile.

Thanks VonBlucher. I got back into the hobby about 4 years ago and started up with 1/72 and commissioned these just prior to discovering ABs fantastic 15(18)mm range, and that was that as they say:) After that these guys along with some 1/72 French Old/Middle Guard units ended up on the shelf for display while I have focused on 15mm`s ever since.
I realize I will probably never switch back to 1/72, and after taking another "test" leap into 6mm`s as well I figured it was time to find a new loving home for these guys I guess..

Cheers
Erik

I would also love to buy them as a retirement present to myself. However they would cause the rest of my 1/72 army to feel badly about their paint jobs.

Really nice work . Great work!

COL Scott and Marc, drop me an email at valsalvameister@gmail.com if you are interrested. Also check out the Napoleonic marketplace for more info on them since I posted the "for sale" anouncement there originally.

Everyone else, thank you for the nice compliments on the minis! I am certain that the painter will appreciate them.

I find that it is actually a lot of fun photographing miniatures!! Come to think of it maybe its time to take pictures of those 15mm armies as well…it would allow me to play with my toy soldiers outside of gaming with them;)

Too much for me I am afraid, but still very nice figures. Hope they find a good home
