There are not much there about the Army of Joseph Bonapart. This is a very good job about how looks their uniforms. These draw show a soldier from the Spanish Regiment from Leon taking prisioner a surrender Josefino soldier.
The next draw show a Voltiguer of the Joseph Napoleon Regiment.
This is interesting too, a soldier of the Baza Regiment 1808-1809.
This last one show the uniform of a soldier of the Guadalajara Regiment in Dennmark in 1807.

Armand, As always, you have found some great items. Without stealing your thread, have you ever come across a good source of color prints of Grenadier bearskin bags for each of the Spanish regiments? This would be a great find. Thanks, Bill |

The Ristre series on the Spanish Army 1808 shows the bags to be of the same colour as the uniform facing colour. However, other illustrations do show variations to this rule – e.g drawing by Dionosio of La Corona (1802) black facings, blue bag; a drawing by Bueno shows an unnamed regiment 1802-05)with black facings edged red, red bag. I leave the translation to a fluent Spanish/English speaker. |

More or less: "The characteristics of the Grenadiers were the high hat of bear skin with a long sleeve embroidered which fall to the back, usually showing the color of his Regiment, including the Regimental coat and a complicated embroidery which vary from each Regiment; it was also distinctive of the grenadiers the chevrons which adorning their sleeves and the wickholder in the shoulder holster, as well as the use of the saber" Glad you enjoy too my friends. Bill, I would tried. Amicalement Armand |

Really really want to paint up a Spanish grenadier battalion. But I'm afraid to tackle the detail on the bag. |

Thanks guys for the info on the Spanish Grenadier's bearskin bags. Seems every regiment is different and I was hoping to find a single source for this information since I do not speak Spanish. Regards, Bill |
