What's the bag from?

BlackWidowPilot Fezian31 Mar 2013 1:36 a.m. PST

No, but I *have* started a 28mm French Navy flying gunboat which I might now rescale to a 15mm "Flying cruiser"….evil grin

Does anybody make 15mm 19th century naval ordinance…?evil grin

lindberg us navy blimp model. I am converting a ww2 anti tank gun and I have an old pack of minifig naval gatling crew and gun I am going to use as well.

Call me curmudgeon, oh, you know you want to, I think the hull is big to the bag, for my tastes, and I'm no engineer. ;->=

Flattened a bit, say with wicker in place of keel, might be a way to get me to shut it. Oh, there's that curmudgeon thing going on, I suppose.

Leland, my venerable SW desert skiffs can't make up their minds whether they're small 28mm Martian shuttles, or 15mm sky cargo lighters. *shrug*

I certainly don't claim to have a mind involved…

i think most of the early digs would have been converted ships. easy to land and this one is getting a set of lifting props as well.

combat wombat03 Apr 2013 5:31 p.m. PST

Almost finished with the bag.

Andrew

combat wombat04 Apr 2013 4:24 a.m. PST

Now I feel the need to dig out the Denny's rockey cup that I started to convert into a zepp lo these many moons ago… I was thinking it was perfect for 6mm, but might size it for 15mm instead. The Germans need some air support! Of course, my British airship is 28mm, not 15mm… But htere are those lovely pieces by Tobsen77…

You see what this does to me?

combat wombat05 Apr 2013 5:03 p.m. PST

Bring it brother

Personal logo Rebel Minis Sponsoring Member of TMP07 Apr 2013 5:58 a.m. PST

Maybe these guys can crew it

British Airship Troops…

BlackWidowPilot Fezian07 Apr 2013 12:45 p.m. PST

I need FRENCH airship crew, Mitrailleuse, Hothckiss revolvers, and naval infantry, dammit!! Rebel Mike, see my PM to you for details!

This rips it! I am now going ahead with that "Cruiser Aerienne" project, complete with rigging cutter ram…evil grin

BlackWidowPilot: "Rigging cutter ram"?

Nah, do like I used to do with kites, and add blades to the side edges.

@Dan- Awesome links! Thank man! You always find teh coolest stuff!

J Womack 9408 Apr 2013 2:24 p.m. PST

Some French or German airshipmen would be good. Or French and German.

J Womack 9408 Apr 2013 2:25 p.m. PST

Oh, and I am currently looking for a suitable gondola for the airship.

Cacique Caribe08 Apr 2013 2:54 p.m. PST

Rebel Mike,

Glad to be of service. Hope it inspires more gaming and more figures!

Thanks,

Dan

For my kites, I want some lower hull masts with lateen rigs. Sort of canard wing looking kind of thing.

If you were to put a blade along the lateen yardarm, that would slice up some rigging if it passed close enough. But I prefer chainshot for that.

J Womack: Any tohughts on what the gonola should look like?

Cacique Caribe09 Apr 2013 7:32 a.m. PST

Maybe something like the one on the Hyperion, but longer?
