Prompted by a question from Steve on the Snappy Nappy yahoogroup, I thought that these two "off the cuff" ideas about generating "random" forces for solo games might be of interest to some. One is mine, the other SN author Russ Lockwood's. Neither is really unique in any real way to Snappy Nappy, and could be easily adapted to other eras as well.

Thanks Peter, those are really useful ideas for creating forces for 'one off' ImagiNation games with my Red and Blue Armies for Portable Wargames using Bob Cordery's rules.

Glad you found them useful!

Peter,
I noticed this earlier on your blog. We did some like this with pocker chips years ago.

There are many ways to do this; these are just a couple of ideas. Poker chips or numbered chits could be used … or dominoes, which could have some interesting permutations as well!
