The issue has come up of "haters" posting in topics regarding rulesets they don't like. I don't mind people who honestly criticize a set of rules. That is within forum rules. If, however, you are posting only to tell everyone that the rules are "crap" and they should be playing some other ruleset, you are trolling and over the line. If you are posting the same criticism repeatedly, then you need to reconsider your forum behavior. If they didn't agree with you the first time, the next 100 repetitions aren't going to persuade anyone. If even thinking about a particular publisher makes you (a) start shouting (b) start salivating (c) break out into a sweat, perhaps you are the one with the problem. It's time to go hang out in places on TMP that give you a happier feeling. |

Outside of FoW I have no idea what you are talking about! I do not mind the occassional post about how this one or that found a set of rules lacking but unless there is a because line that follows I just skip right over and go on about my way. VR James Mattes |

Isn't the issue here more about some people being rather over sensitive about even the mildest criticism? The clarification of acceptable behaviour is useful though, thank you. |

It's time to go hang out in places on TMP that give you a happier feeling Or maybe start posting your rants on the "FOW Haters Board". There is one, right? |

Rather than raging about FOW on an internet forum perhaps their time could be better spent writing their own rule set and modelling their own pieces to use with it. Just a thought. |

Isn't the problem that the FoW haters want to expose the ignorance of the fanboyz and get them to play a real game
While the fanboyz feel a need to defend their precious against the insults of those who are ignorant of the greatness of FoW? I like FoW for the game it is and I understand its faults. Personally, I like to grab the latest codex and Orky Unload my German Grenadiers next to the Deep Striking tank destroyers
so stuff it you haterz. |

I have loads of rulesets for Fantasy Sci-Fi and WW2 (mainly in 28mm) and they have great qualities and can even dip into the dreaded 'must be real' simulation type. But Flames of War and Warhammer 40000 are too much damn fun. Who gives a monkeys about people who are unhappy with anything because their glass is half empty! |

Is P.E suitable for solo play ? |

Is P.E suitable for solo play ? Yes, but it's not as fun. |

But easier to get a game in .

I usually know when I'm over the edge when my wife gives me that look. Otherwise, I'm oblivious. |

No no, the problem is the FOW lovers that tell those actually interested in simulations that they are foolish

This is about the current fow civil war where current "Kool aid fanboys" and "disillusioned haters" (fow board tradmarks) are having a disagreement about "stuff", right? Bill, It isnt your problem. They just need to be big boys now. In fact, becoming disillusioned and learning to live with it is a big part of growing up, so one side appears to be maturing, but maybe not adjusting so well for the sensitive souls on the other side!
And history tells us you can never referee a civil war since they will change sides on a whim. Today's kool aid drinker is tomorrow's hater. "Isn't the problem that the FoW haters want to expose the ignorance of the fanboyz and get them to play a real game
" Those types of haters are myths or extinct or reformed
now 'haters' are actually people who play and like the game, but dont like 'stupid stuff' In fact that would make every FOW player I know a 'hater'. When did 'hater' get redefined to be "anyone in the world who I disagree with"?
.I must have missed that memo. |
John the OFM | 29 Mar 2013 10:48 a.m. PST |
I guess I am a "hater" too. |
