Hey folks,

I'm looking for good US Sharpshooter figures (1st and 2nd USSS) in 28mm preferably in firing/skirmish poses. They need to have Sharps rifles (I include that because I've seen one company that has "sharpshooters" but they have standard rifle muskets). Please don't recommend Redoubt, I am aware of them but they are not an option. They are needed for a Gettysburg project. Thanks

There is a list of manufacturers with ACW ranges here to have a browse through….

I vote for Dixon miniatures but I'm biased! Foundry do some but I don't think they do any figures firing. Steve Barber has a ACW range but I'm not sure how extensive it is yet!

Redoubt do a nice pack of mixed poses.

Redoubt is a non-starter. I wish that Perry or Steve Barber did Sharpshooters.

I know Dixons arn't to everyone's tastes

I love the prone Shooter from Dixon but I do not remember what weapon he has. I have my 40mm from S&S and they are fantastic, not sure if he has done them in 25/28mm or not.

Unfortunately Sash and Saber don't make Sharpshooters in 28mm. I have a few Dixon prone that I have never painted, the problem is that they are much smaller than my Perrys and Redoubt. I had some Redoubt on order but that fell through and that's why I'm looking for another manufacturer. I want to do a Dio of the 20th ME at Gettysburg at the moment that the left flank companies start their right wheel. Of course they had picked up some boys from the 2nd USSS, especially down with Company B. I have too many Redoubts already, one thing that you can say about Redoubt ACW infantry is that they are certainly well fed.

Too cool, I just saw that Bicorne makes a few Sharpshooters! And while I'm at it I'll order some Firing Line to fill in my regular Infantry. Thanks all, especially Cerdic, I found it on his list.

BTW Bracken, adding that telescopic sight to the prone Sharps is a cool idea.

Jowady I can't take the credit that's how he comes! You also get a raised base to sit him on, so he's supported in the firing position. All I did was add the horse!

Bicorne's Sharpshooters are actually quite nice. I had some a few years ago. They are probably the best figures that they made, sculpting and variety!
