I'm a huge fan of the original Avengers as well and have figures for John Steed and Emma Peel. In this case, however, I was referring to the current Marvel comics use of the term. I love the idea of using Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Hyde for the Hulk. The more I thought about it over the weekend, the more I think the Hulk is merely an updating of the Stevenson novel. Buck |
Rich Bliss | 25 Mar 2013 9:09 a.m. PST |
Stan Lee is on record acknowledging Stevenson as the inspiration for the Hulk. |
surdu2005 | 25 Mar 2013 9:56 a.m. PST |
Rich: I didn't know that. Thanks for the confirmation. Buck |

m painting one up to be Mr Hyde for The League of Extrodinary(sic) Gentlemen I was thinking of the new Yeti coming from Northstar's line for In Her Majesty's Service, but this is quite good. And has two salient advantages: already available, the hat. ;->= Doug |

That Seamus avatar would make a wonderful Hulk, yes. |
Stepman3 | 26 Mar 2013 3:27 p.m. PST |
Maybe Hawkeye as an Indian and Thor as a Valkyrie and Captain America as a Civil War soldier, S.H.I.E.L.D forces and Nick Fury as Pinkertons
|
surdu2005 | 27 Mar 2013 1:57 p.m. PST |
Oooh. I like the idea of Hawkeye as an Indian! |

I have added The Hulk as well as Hawkeye.
bucksurdu.com/blog/?p=1699 I'm still looking for a good Thor figure without having to order a SINGLE Foundry figure from the UK. Buck |
surdu2005 | 19 Apr 2013 12:00 p.m. PST |
To be clear, in my previous post, I meant that I didn't want to pay postage from the UK for one figure. I wasn't commenting on ordering from the UK or Foundry in general. Buck |

Just for the record, neither Steed nor Peel were the original Brit TV 'The Avengers'. Steed, Gale, Peel, King, Mother, Father, and whatever that Dr. was
Could be an interesting faction/team. Doug |
surdu2005 | 26 Apr 2013 2:16 a.m. PST |
Dr. David Keel was originally the focus of the television show, with Steed assisting him. When Ian Hendry left the series after the first season, Patrick Macnee (Steed) became the main character. Only one or two episodes from that first season remain as it appears they were recorded over after airing to save money on video tape. They're not bad, but the best set of plots were definitely during the Diana Rigg years. This thread, however, began as my attempt to recreate the modern Marvel Avengers as Victorian heroes. Buck |

well Thor is a Nordic god, so I don't think his clothing would actually be all that different a hundred odd years ago, or really even subject to mortal fashion. It would actually be pretty funny to make all the other characters into pseudo Victorians but portray Thor exactly the same as usual. |

Very sad to see Diana Rigg on Game of Thrones. Oh well, life moves on. |
