Beautiful stuff! I love the half-built structures. I had never thought of that as a feature of an old West town but it's perfectly logical and makes the town look even better. Something to aspire to!! |

Nazrat, that was one of the first things I noticed. A very nice touch, shows a growing cow town on the rail line. Beautiful board. |

I too love the building under construction. Definately going to need to do that for my town. Something else I think is brilliant is the cattle based in groups on hex-shaped bases. You can have them scattered about in their pen as shown, or easily place them together into a cattle drive due to the nature of the basing. That is fantastic! Where did you get those cows? |

SeattleGamer The cows are 1/64th scale made by ERTL in scale terms they fit in alright with 28mm, cattle were I believe in general smaller then than now anyway. They are Hereford breed which were found in the west. Based on hexes so the herd or elements can random move on the roll of a d6. I found them on Ebay from a US site cost $8.99 USD plus shipping. I bought two sets and in total paid about £18.00 GBP . No import taxes as the original product value (not inc postage) was less than £15.00 GBP gbp . arrived in 10 days. I was not able to find them at all in the UK. auction They are a hard rubber/plastic and come pre coloured , just needed the eye painting in,matt varnish and basing They have managed to kill a few guys who failed a reaction test when stampeding through town! The cattle rusting scenario I have run in the past was also good fun with the herd proving a real random element! |

Thanks for the info Deedles! Just ordered three sets from a seller here in the US. I had been slowly trying to put together a small herd of longhorn cattle (in metal) but they are impossible to find, and not cheap. This is a far cheaper way to go, and they look great. You mentioned the Hearse Is Blue Moon. How about the stagecoach? |
Deedles | 26 Mar 2013 7:54 a.m. PST |
SeattleGamer, glad to be of assistance. ERTL do a longhorn as well , but don't seem to do it in packs. Just as part of farm sets , or occassional found as individuals I found someone in U.S. selling individually link as for the stagecoach it is Dixon miniatures
cheers Dave
