This is a fantastic model. I can't say enough good things about the casting, from ease of assembly to the detail. Our 15mm sci-fi group seems to be on a tear these days, so I'll be painting up another two of these leviathans. For my own mercenary company, Ophelia's Outriders, I tried for a Star Wars-y scheme, with plenty of weathering (maybe I over did it slightly). There's a couple more pics on my blog, including one with some Khurasan infantry for scale (also fantastic models to work with). Dave gasmaskjournal.blogspot.com

Erm, what is this thread about? |
MrHarold | 21 Mar 2013 8:42 a.m. PST |
Very nice tank, love the checkboard and the dirty yellow line. How does it size up compared to 15mm minis? |

That's a cool scheme. Any infantry to go with it? Erm, what is this thread about? The "bug" ate the first post (and regurgitated something unrelated) when I first clicked on it, but now it seems to be working. Try leaving the page, reopening it, and reloading the thread. -Chris K. |

Yeah, I think I got the original post back. It was surreal there though for a second. Sorry about that. MrHarold- it's definitely big. No question about it. We ran a huge Hammer's Slammers game a couple months back and it was the biggest vehicle on the table. But it looks right for a "super heavy" tank. |

Really nice looking work. |

That is a beast, and your exterminators look great too! Thanks for the comparison pic.

Really nice work Dave, that definitely captures the vibe of the tank coming down through the atmosphere to launch an attack directly from the fleet. The PARICOM "Eight Dragon" heavy combat drone is being designed now for the 20mm project, and then two GEVs (tank and APC) need to be designed for a new faction called the Four Nations, but after that the drone carrier and combat drones which will accompany this vehicle will be designed. The drone carrier will be a non-turreted version of the XM-6, and will also look like it can carry troops. However, the design idea is that these vehicles are so advanced that they leave the infantry-style fighting to drones. |

Dave – the paintjob looks great! I really like the weathering/dirtiness of it. |
BlackWidowPilot | 21 Mar 2013 11:55 a.m. PST |
Dave, you've truly captured this beast IMHO. Splendid job especially on the weathering, as tanks get dirty very fast, very easily, and IMHO even a grav tank is no exception to that rule! Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net
P.S. Is that "West Coast" written on the left flank of that beastie of yours? |

Beauty! I really hope Khurasan considers making a scaled down "medium" version of this. It is simply too big for my liking or gametable. I love the design, just offer a smaller clone please. |

Love the paint scheme. I've been dragging my feet at getting this tank. This post just sold me a couple to add on my next order. |

It's OK looking. (count down starting

Mr. Sexton here is my 15mm sci-fi mentor. He's responsible for organizing a sort of mini-narrative campaign for the 6-7 of us in the Chicago area playing Hammer's Slammers. I'll be posting pics of our next game on the blog. Leland- it does sport a "west coast" bit of crew graffiti. It's a little bit of an inside joke, as the crew are Pacifican. But I appreciate the comments. Getting feedback is very motivational when it comes to getting more tanks done

I agree. The weathering is fantastic! This tank is on my wishlist. Soon. Very soon you will be mine. |

:) And I thought the West Coast graffiti was in reference to Butters in South Park. AS to the tank(s), as I have said before, DAMN nice work. |

One would think a tank like that would be expensive and therefore well taken care of so it wouldn't rust. Seriously, you make that tank look great. Very inspirational. |
DavePauwels | 22 Mar 2013 11:50 a.m. PST |
Admiral- That's hilarious, I thought about just that very concept. One would think that man would first develop a self-cleaning vehicle system before it developed anti-gravitic technology. But, again, I went with a Star Wars kind of model: even fast-than-light starships can look dingy and in need of some proper maintenance. |

Man that looks good. Nice work, an outstanding model. -Will |

I would point the 'but it's grav-drive, it should be clean' folks at images of the Shuttle after it lands. Atmospheric entry is a very brutal event. |
