Hi Everyone,

I'm looking for suggestions for minis that I could paint to look like Jem'Hadar from star trek. Here are some pictures:

Thank you for your cooperation, and remember, Resistance is Futile…

Huh… that's a tough one. Some of PF's Pangalactic Legion heads have the right overall shape, but not the bony protrusions. Can't think of any other sci-fi heads that would work… unless there's some fantasy heads that could be mounted on other figures.

Maybe we need to talk Malleman into doing some not-TNG era figures to complement his not-TOS stuff. grin

I would try Blue Moon's Aquans link They are slightly larger than the Astro Crew.
Khurasan's Sci-fi Police are also good for conversions and their rifles look like Domnion ones

Edit-Just saw clkeagle's post :)

Hmm… can you think of any figures that are dressed/armed in a similar way?

Oh, the aquans looks pretty close! Oh, and I agree with clkeagle btw grin

What do you guys think of these:

Rebel Minis Krugen:

Rebel Minis Earth Force Magistrates:

(they'd need new heads)

Other than that I'm kinda outta ideas…

i second having malleman make some, i have a number of his 15mm and he does a great job. i would like to have some 15mm jem hadar in addition to the 15mm star trek line i have. it's not 15mm but 28mm but space vixens have a rim alien range that includes, cardassian, jem hadar, klingon tng, romulan tos, and others.

The Kurgen were my first thought. Paint them a light bluish gray and I think you've got it.

For converting to Jem'Hadar the Aquans bodies would best in my opinion. They are taller than the Astro Crew. The Kurgen heads with a different paint scheme would be perfect for the Jem'Hadar. I think that the EF Magistrates bodies would be good for Movie+ era Klingons and maybe even Cardassians although they are a little short since the minis are humans.

I have some of the Magistrates and Aquans. I will post comparison pics on my blog tomorrow when I get a chance. I may have a Kurgan, but I doubt it.

Most of the effects you are looking for (body armor etc) can be achieved by your paint scheme alone. In other words you don't necessarily need to do a lot of modifying/green stuff work except for simple head swaps.

Trim off the ears and paint them in Jem Hadar colors and do some wuite or lighter grey dots where the little spines are supposed to be and you'll have a really nice proxy.

They looked so cool with that reptilian hybrid skin.

Plus I love the idea of the chemical dependence link. I mean, if you're going to create a race of super warriors, you better find a way to keep them in line!

I loved their attack ships too:

The current options for ST on figures on the tabletop in general seem to be rather limiting at the moment. Looks liek it requires a bit of converting to get anywhere. If someone would commit to a full line that could pass without a considerable deal of converting, that would be fantastic. Khurasan would be my first choice, since they seem to have doen a great job on the aliens/colonial marine standins (and on their models in general) but I suspect they have a lot on their plate at the moment.
