Would their plastic range be suitable, most research points to yes with a few modifications. Just thought I would ask here before taking the plunge.

I wouldn't object.

Having said that, it rather depends how much detail you care about. I think the kite shields were getting a bit less pointy, and in some cases wider (shields, tending to have a shorter lifespan than armour, would tend to be up-to-date). Helmets were also changing in style. Flat-topped helms were coming in about then, and some may have had face-plates as well. Other helmets seem to seem to have been rather more hemi-spherical than the Norman 'conical' helm.

I would use them. Mix in a few other figures in more 'up-to-date' gear and nobody will notice.
