This is the new Histoire & Collections release. Has anyone read it or glanced through it? Is it worth getting? link |

Well for €15.00 EUR you can't go far wrong. I have visited Rocroi and it is a great little place. There is a Battle of Rocroi museum with mannequins and weapons and a 25mm set-up of the battle at its height. You can also walk the intact walls and fortifications which could do with a little TLC but still a great place. |

It depends if it's the same style and format as the Napoleonic ones – does anyone know what the contents look like? |

MM, are the Napoleonic ones any good? |

I am guessing that it will be more like their books on Fontenoy and Aspern – Essling. That is, a smaller paperback format. |

Interesting. I'm no expert on this period but I had read of Rocroi and thought it an interesting battle that the French had won. Is that not so? The text seems to imply Spanish sources consider it a Spanish victory? |

Perhaps the Spanish treat it as a magnificent, valiant defeat? The "Alatriste" film seems to do so. Certainly it was the swan song of the old tercios of the Army of Flanders. |
