At long last the poll is up to start a new Giant Monster Board! It will be nice if we can finally have a home for the discussions to gather. I'll cross-post this to the various boards I recall seeing giant monster posts scattered to in the past. I'm sure I'll miss some though. A few posters have gotten pretty creative when trying to figure out where the topic belongs

Voted. My son actually just designed a giant monster for a video game( kaiju combat) thats currently in the works. Is there anyone out there who can point me in the right direction to possibly get a miniature made of his creature? Im not sure of the process but im sure its somewhat time consuming & expensive. Thanks Heres what it looks like: link |

@Delta314: The first thing you want to do is make sure you didn't give up any rights to the design of the monster outside of its use in the video game. I know the owners of Kaiju Combat have plans to possibly do some miniature/toys as well as a possible boardgame depending on the success of the video game. If the rights remain yours, you can get someone to create a digital scultp for you and use one of the 3-D printing facilities or you could have a traditional sculptor create a green for you so that you can create a mold out of it. Costs vary depending on the size, the number of pieces, and materials used to create the miniature. EDIT: I know the artist that drew that picture and since its his interpretation of the monster you'd likely have to get his permission to use it for any sculpting purposes. |

Giantmonster, Thanks for the response. I'll shoot the artist & the guy incharge an email just to double check. It was my understanding per contract that the game company has exclusive rights for the character for all video related games & that everything else was okay. |

I assume you are looking for one off gaming toy version? How tall are you looking for? Finished, as in painted and ready to go or raw? ? I know a handful of guys who would be interested in providing a one off for your son. rgiugliano at yahoo dot com |

As of this morning, the vote is 51 : 50. We've passed the threshold and for bonus points are even winning the poll =^,^= |

It has shifted to the negative
but I wonder if the majority of nay sayers are objecting to a new board and not the subject matter of said board. With the choice being support or not support it could be that those 65 folks are just saying they are not interested in the subject and would not support it. I mean seriously who does not like giant monsters
it boggles the mind lol :) |

I added my 'yay' vote. Boy, this is like trying to pass the 13th amendment! I guess kaiju aren't perceived as serious as x-wings, orcs and space marines? |

The nay votes are making Mothra very sad. What if she doesn't defend the earth from Battra? |

Let them say nay if they choose
most likely it is a unit of anti-new boards guys. "If a Giant Monster board was created, would you support it? There must be at least 50 supporters in order for the new board to be created" There are over 50 votes to support the board so thus it should come to giant radioactive life! Raaaawaarrrrr
(I know it is MonPoc specific, but the variety of monster types says it all
yay
giant monster board!) |
