I will be on holiday in Rome late August. Can any Italian wargamers reccommend "must-visit" shops, museums, militaria dealers, etc. We are staying 7 days and I am sure my wife will let me have one day for indulging in my hobby!

Be advised though…August is "vacation season" for the city…Half the city goes on vacation the first two weeks, and the other half goes the second two weeks…

Also Rome in August can be very, very hot!

Keep hydrated, wear clothes that will be light but protect you from the sun, wear sunscreen … and beware pickpockets! The latter are very clever (a lot use distraction techniques that involve mothers with babies or attractive young women clipboards), and our guide kept us on our toes by pointing out the likely candidates.
