Hi all,

I've just started painting my Rebellion era figures. First up are some militia. I was hoping for some feedback, just to make sure I'm painting these "correctly" grin

Looks good to me, though I usually associate uniforms more with regulars than militia.

Brown coats, in all variations of brown and various facings, as you may know, were common among the revolutionaries in the first part of the War, more common than blue.

Nice paint job. But I agree with the above. Militia, by definition, were civilians called to service – wearing civilian clothing. There were some pre-war dandy units, usually associated with city units – but I doubt the vast majority had more then the clothes they were wearing when called up for service.

I'm with the others on the paint job, well done!

The figures are from the Foundry (Perry sculpted) AWI range from the packs labelled, somewhat bizarrely, as 'uniformed militia'. Personally I use them as early War Continentals and State Troops.

Thanks chaps!

As stated, Foundry package these as "Uniformed Militia", but they could quite easily be used as poorly equipped Continentals!

I like them grin But then have the Perrys ever made a bad figure?

Actually, they would be very well equipped Continentals. grin
