I chose Dwarven Forge over Hirst Arts, but those accessory kits are nifty! I could definitely use those. Thanks for posting this!

That is a spectacular set up, it'd be a shame if you then cracked the spine of your next adventure module to find it was all in natural caverns.

The maker of the dungeon (BoreasNL) was frustrated by the magnitude of undercoating plaster and the fact the there always seems to be some tiny white spots you miss.


If someone has signed in to Hirstarts forums perhaps they can forward the following tip:

I've mixed iron oxide to the plaster when casting to prevent this. Depending on amount you add you get various shades or gray or even black.

Because of the whole mixture of plaster (and not just the top of the castings like when you paint them) is being colored, chipping that happen invariably don't show on the castings either. Well, at least they don-t stand our as much as they would if the plaster was white…


IIRC, I bought the iron oxide powder at DIY- or craft store. I'm relatively sure that pigments of other colors are also available.
