I think that the PTO in WW2 is under appreciated in wargaming circles compared to the much beloved ETO. Here is what draws me to the PTO:

- It's the only campaign where you can combine naval, air and land on this scale.
- You can approach it from several angles. One of the common complaints is a lack of tanks, but there's lots of mechanized warfare in the theatre.
- If find the fatalism and fantacism of the Japanese fascinating.
- The war took place across a huge geographical area (not sure if it was larger than the ETO).
- The only theatre where you can play the USMC.
- All of the major allied nations were present: British & Commonwealth, US, and Soviets (lots of options for what-if scenarios for Soviets invading Manchuria earlier).

I am interested in other's reasons or why people disagree.
