The pictures look stunning. I haven't bought Battlegroup Kursk due to a lack of miniatures for the Eastern Front. But I've read so many good reviews about BGK that I'm chomping at the bit for the release of Battlegroup Overlord. I feel like a kid counting down the days until Christmas.

So are bases in the Battlegroup games individual soldiers, squads or platoons?

monger07 Mar 2013 9:04 p.m. PST

Good question. From what I hear you can use either single mounted, or multi-figure stands (ala, FOW). Some even mix the mounting system, which makes me wonder. So yeah… so what do the rules say about mounting infantry?

PiersBrand08 Mar 2013 2:58 a.m. PST

You can mount them how you like.

What is the release date again?

We hope it will be out for Salute.

Final proofing has been done with the printers so its all systems go!

I will be at Salute with my Irish madmen and our Omaha beach game that features in the book.

So if I have a couple of FoW forces, i can just use these rules without any modifications?

PiersBrand08 Mar 2013 4:16 a.m. PST

Yup… You may want a means of recording casualties if you have only FOW bases.

Here is an AAR using FOW bases;

May give you a better idea as I dont play FOW so not really that up on the style of basing.

I know a few guys who use FOW basing have added a few single figures and bases of two figures to ease casualty recording. Others just use a dice to note losses.

monger08 Mar 2013 12:01 p.m. PST

nice. I liked that atRep. Well done. So I guess I can use my FOW inf. Is mounting models individually just to keep track of indivadual model loses?

Confirmed for release at Salute!

Does anyone know how the preordered rulebooks from PSC are going to be treated. ie released at the same time, after or just before Salute?

Might venture into 20mm . Now that'll be back to the future . Its fair to say for some reason i enjoyed wargaming more in the 70s than I do now . Just hope I can get a nostalgia trip with these rules. I think I will take a look at the Airfix Cromwell as I have heard a lot of positive things about this kit :)

@Mysteron

if you've pre-ordered you can collect at Salute and get a refund on the postage or put it towards more PSC goodies!

otherwise, pre-orders will be shipped monday/tuesday after Salute
