Last summer I ordered up enough resin buildings for a decent sized village from Kieven at Lancer Miniatures link

Originally from Shellhole Scenics, these are beautiful little models and loaded with detail. It's great that Lancer is keeping this excellent line of scenery in production.

I was worried about how I was going paint these, but I have a Battle Group Kursk 'big game' deadline coming up so I decided to pull my thumb out.

Looking for inspiration, I Googled 'Isba' and found no end of cool looking images…

In the end I just threw down some grey primer and went for it.

Lots of Tamiya earth tones through the airbrush, followed by washes of dark oil paints. Details picked out with acrylics or oils.

What I like best about these buildings is that they are really useful; you can get a decent number of minis inside them and they look like they provide different degrees of cover.

Can't recommend these enough. Kieven is a super guy to deal with and these are iconic pieces of gaming kit. Very happy to have finally taken these out of the stash and put them into play. Only six or so more to go….

Why must you tease me? I'd love to buy them, but shipping to the USA is prohibitive!

I am right there with you.
I did get a couple a few years ago when shipping and the pound were cheap.

Given how easy these can be to paint up and get on the table, I've come to see them as good value for the money.

Doesn't change the fact you gotta spend the dosh, but I've spent more for less and certainly felt it. YMMV.
