I have just acquired a 28mm New Kingdom Egyptian army, just wondering if anyone have come up with a really quick way of painting these up?

Advice on painting skin tones would be great, I am not adverse to using army painter shade.

I just did a straight ink wash over a white undercoat with mine, very quick ( little tricky to get the right shade, may take a few goes before your happy with it ). Then when you've got the skin tones right, go back and pick out the bits n pieces with some good old fashion brush work. Shields I did the same.

White undercoat with Army Painter Strong Tone looks great IMHO. Also I just use Dwarf flesh. Perhaps not dark enough but looks good.
When using other colours over white undercoat thin application acts as highlight under painter shade. Glad to see you getting into chariot warfare.

The linen kilts were not very white. My advice would be to base coat with a tone between dwarf skin and dark flesh, brush the kilts light beige, shade with army painter or whatever, and then paint the details: black hairs, brown spears, copper blades, hide-covered shields.

Thanks guys,

Colin, this is a project that has always been on my wargaming bucket-list.

Happy Wanderer has some great tips for painting Sumerians on his blog which can be applied to NKE:
