Was looking for user experience with Litko bases. Specifically, how suitable they turned out to be for basing various sized minis, whether they warped or not with different basing media and so on. How do the micro-thin (0.8mm) bases hold up? |

Don't have any experience with the thin Litko bases, but I just got 100 of the 2" x 2" 3mm thick bases last week and they are by far the best pre-cut bases that I've ever bought. Very accurately cut, all are the same size, and they're made of strong plywood that is not warped. Their service is very fast too. Within 30 minutes after I placed my order online, I got a shipment notice from Litko. I am highly impressed. |

Highly satisfied but most of my experience is with the thicker bases. I've only started on the 0.8 in the last three months but they show no tendency to warp and are quite rigid. Absolutely no warping on bases now 2 years old (thick) and I use spackle on some bases. A huge variety of sizes and shapes are available and in the unlikely case of a missing size, you can custom order virtually anything. Service is always excellent as well. |

Very good experience with 3mm thick bases. They assured me that wood they use will not warp, it's some kind of airplane wood. |

I thought I could warp anything with enough white glue, but after adding gravel to over a hundred of the original thickness bases they're all still sitting flat. |

I've used them for cavalry bases for a whole parthian army down to tiny 15mm round bases for D&D creatures and I have had nothing but good luck with these bases. I've never used the ultra thin, though. Plus some of the best customer service in the gaming industry. |

Agree totally top notch. I have around 100 bases of Guals (15mm) on these bases and I was so impressed I am going to use them for my new units. One guy in our club has his 15mm WWII stuff on em and they have held up great. These and The Thicker beveled bases from Renissance Ink are the best on the market. VR James Mattes |

I agree with the others that Litko bases are excellent. I have been using the thin bases to base my Bacchus 6 mm figures . I have used white glue to stick the figures down and and a variety of paints, groundwork ,etc .There has been no warping. The bases are also very light which helps cut down the weight of your armies. The prices and shipping are first rate as well. Two hints : -one side of the base is a little rougher than the other - if you use sandpaper you can rough it up even more which helps the bases stay put on smooth surfaces - The bases are hard so you can use an exacto blade to remove figures and not damage the base. I once stuck my troops to the wrong size base ( spears instread of pike) and I was able to pop the figures off and the base was still useable. Try that with card !! |

I use the thin bases almost exclusively for my Napoleonics. There's been no sign of warpage, the edges are clean, and so on. One of the advantages to the laser cutting is that Ken can use tougher would than the Bass wood I used to use when I cut my bases by hand -- now *that* was a wood that was prone to warping and splitting. That said, all my bases have the magnetic bases on the bottom, as well. I don't know if that has any effect, but -- based on the wood itself -- I doubt it. Good product, highly recommended. |

I use the 0.8mm and like them very much - I put steel on the bottom to hold 'em in my carry trays. Customer Service gets an A+++ |

Litko is the best. I use them exclusively, now. Thanks, John |

I may never cut my own bases again after seeing the quality of the Litko bases. |

I also favor Litko. The service and products are above par. I started using their product a couple years ago and now I use their bases almost exclusively. I have used the .8 and have experienced no warping. Plus since the bases are wood and not metal it is easier to pop them off if you are doing a big rebasig project. I don’t spackle my bases so I can’t comment as to the durability when spackled. I just paint and flock the bases and add terrain bits. Plus Ken is very responsive and will do custom sizing at an economical rates. Chris |

I hate to be boring, but I must also put another check in the Win column for Litko bases. Only the thick ones thus far, but they are nice bases. Cheap too. One hint: if you can order them through you flgs, I'd do that. You don't pay shipping that way, saves ya money. Plus it gives the store some business. Everyone wins. |

I have the ultra thin bases for my individual based micro space fighters that barely fit on the 10mm round bases I had custom made for the same price of the 15mm round bases available on their site. I have seen no warping on any bases I have ever bought from them. I have spent probably over $200.00 USD on bases over the last two years with them. The best bases on the market. |

Can you order the bases with magnetic material attached already? |
