anyone please that could suggest anyone making suitable but cheap plastic canoes useable for 28mm FIW games – I had some 1/32 when I was a child (of the Cowboys and Indians type) and they would from memory probably have done for the large 28s of today – i know there are co.s making metal and resin ones but just looking for any possibly cheaper options

I bought loads of plastic ones from Dollar store bagged cowboy and Indian sets. At a $1 USD ea.,it is hard to get much cheaper. The majority of those available are knock offs of Britains Deetail models. They work perfectly with my 28mm figs.

Margard, thanks for the link.

Wish we had Dollar Stores here on Oz. Searched Canadian Dollarama stores when I visited Ontario last year but no luck.

No Dollar store…go to Michael's. They have a whole set of Cowboys and Indians, and one of them is just the canoes w/paddles. I use them for my "Great Canoe Race", game

Good luck!

Yup, I bought several, not sure if two comes in a pack, but I ended up with quite a few. I converted some into "crashed" canoes, ect. Here's a few pics from one of my games:

All figures are from the OG25 F&IW line.

not sure in UK if such great bargains are available as in the US – the Timpo ones on Ebay would work out pricier than buying them in metal/resin!

250 AUD = £168.00 GBP plus P&P!

Best resin canoes in the UK are probably the ones in the Redoubt F&IW range. Not sure if you can buy them separate from the figure packs they feature in, but Redoubt tend to be very accommodating, so worth asking them.

Yes Redoubt will if asked
