OK, I know I said I would never do this again, but, I have bought and then sold – without painting of course, figures to do the Punic Wars in 15mm and then 20mm. Well maybe the third time is the charm
..I am seeking your opinions on the best figure range(s) for the Punic Wars?????? Thanks for your help!!!! |

IMHO,the following Aventine, Crusader, Renagade and Old Glory. The Crusader has all the figures you would need, but for fill in figures I would use the others. Also I forgot to mention Relic and Gorgon. I have ALL these companies figures in my Punic Wars figures! Mike Adams |

Mine are Renegade and Crusader. Renegade are cheap with regiment five for four deals and very easy to paint. Crusader are a bit smaller but look OK in their own units, good for filling in the gaps. |

The Aventine stuff is very very nice. If I was starting from the beginning I would go with these. 1st Corps are another option
very nice for the Romans

Aventine in gorgeous, but they won't have all the troops you will need. Romans, yes, Carthaginians, no. Old Glory's line is very nice, and I use them for all my Celts / Gauls. Their Libyan spearmen are excellent. Crusader has some great Spanish, Numidians, and Carthaginians as well. Take a look too at Gripping Beast and Relic. I do not personally find them as nice as the others mentioned, but that's a matter of personal taste. You may like them more. |

I second Aventine, Old Glory and Crusader all great figures. That reminds me I must photograph my OG Carthaginians

I chose Renegade, and I'm glad I did. They were very easy to paint. If they had not been, I'd have given up long before this stage

olicana, That is really impressive! I've wanted to hold a review like that for years. And my wife is going away in a week, so I can set up tables. Back to the original question, I have Renegade Gauls, which ae quite nice, though I would be happier if more were in attacking poses. Relic are also quite nice, though a little slimmer than Renegade. Relic swords are much nicer, and look like swords, not cricket bats. Gotta scroll backup to look at that picture. Grelber |
