I know everyone apart from me hates it, but I like The Keep.

The scene where one finds oneself rooting for the bad Nazi in spite of him being evil and deserving to get his just deserts makes the film interesting to watch.

Special place on the shelf for "In The Mouth Of Madness". It's an HPL story mondernized, with lots that's low budget but somehow got under my skin.

"It's Mommy's Day, and you're my mommy!"

I am a fan of many of the above selections, but since no one else has mentioned it yet, I'll put in a plug for the original "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" (1973?) with Kim Darby as the housewife terrorized in her new house by little goblins out to get her. Great atmosphere!

I also am still terrified by The Exorcist and Rosemary's baby.

And the original Stepford Wives (1975, Katherine Ross) has some genuinely creepy moments.

I've been going thru the collection of Lovecraft based films. I haven't found anything of great value. Is there anything out there that is above the rest? I dont think there is but I thought I would ask.

Rogzombie have you have seen the two films from the H.P. Lovecraft historical society?

Call of Cthulhu
The Whisperer in Darkness

RicharDisney suggested "The Ressurected" to me on another thread and it is really impressive.

Ken Hite wrote a book/pamphlet called "Cthulhu 101" that has an excellent and annotated Cthulhuoid filmography. It is also funny and inexpensive

Good Luck in your hunt.
