I downloaded the Dirtside rules and noticed that the counter sheets are basically just photos. Does anyone know of a possible source for a fan-produced PDF of the counters? |

Just curious – why the preference for a PDF? |

Just a guess but if it is a proper pdf then its easier to convert to vector for laser cutting. |

I didn't think GZG sold the original sheets anymore and the one in the download are really small when printed out. Hoped that maybe someone had made a set that were a wee bit larger. |

If the PDF is vector, using fonts (referenced or embedded), then the printing will be extremely high quality. Also, you don't have to worry about sizing an image because the dpi isn't working out for your printer. You can open the image in Microsoft Paint (or your system's equivalent) and resize it so that it prints at better dimensions. |

Email StarMats Plus at thrud62@yahoo.com and he can probably sell you a set of the actual counters. He certainly had sets of counter sheets at his booth at GZG-ECC last weekend, although they might have been all StarGrunt ones. |

Bill. I still have my original copy from back in 1993 and the PDF copy I downloaded.Less wear and tear on my original of course and I can put the PDF in a binder with all the house rules and other errata I have found over the years. Robert |

I could pretty easy draw up a new set of these with Illustrator
if that would be of use and wouldn't be breaking any laws. |
emckinney | 27 Feb 2013 6:31 p.m. PST |
You could do it with Excel, PowerPoint, Word
Heck, even code it in HTML. Legal: Maybe GZG could scrounge up grounds for a C&D, but there's no way that John would do that. |

OK, I've redrawn the counters with Illustrator
what's the best format to save them in so other folks can print them and resize them if they want? |

PDF is best for printing, but I'm not sure that it resizes well at all. Maybe that only depends on which version of Acrobat you have? Depending on your printer driver, you may be able to scale the page there. SVG would be interesting, but I think that you'd need to embed it in a Web page and build controls for the zoom level (might be wrong about that because I don't know enough about SVG). |

Would love PDF and SVG ass I could cut some with my laser. Lee

Hear hear. An Illustrator file would be good, even. And someone above mentioned a Litko Aerosystems set for DS2 – how would THAT work? --M |

I have redrawn the dirtside and stargrunt counter sheets as vector images, in the past. I did email them to Jon at GZG and he said he might put them on his his site for download but that was months ago. I'll upload them to my personal webspace tomorrow for download if anyone is still interested. As they are vector images that means you can enlarge them to any size you wish without any loss in quality. |

I have plenty of Stargrunt rules available (each comes with a sheet of counters) plus I just found a case of Dirtside II rules in the stack (which also comes with a sheet of counters). If you are interested, I also have a case of just Stargrunt counters, many are used in Dirtside as well. Just contact me and let me know what you need. -Will link |
