bloody Bleeped texting 'elves'!

Love the report style, by the way. The narrative AAR is so much nicer to read than a plain out-of-character, in game terms report.

"nicer to read than a plain out-of-character, in game terms report" Thanks.
I decided a while ago that AAR's are stories, and need all the ingredients of a good story. I regard AAR's as practice should I decide to make "yet another career change" and become a professional writer.

You can say "bloody ing 'elves'!", but it is what it is. They don't have volley fire or breakthrough guns, and I don't have teleporting AT guns. Its about who can play their strenghts better.

Maybe rather than "wood elves" they are just mere mortal men who execute their orders on time as expected and move out accordingly? In reality, not all units do this consistently and maybe these cats are a bit better at it than most and thus get a bit of a "jump" from an ability/special rule that likely gets used once, early in a game, if at all, and still entails the other restrictions and risks in respect to taking that action in proximity of the enemy!

Everybody wants to focus on a literal interpretation, and not consider other ways these effects/outcomes might have possibly come into being. Then they often do not look holistically on the impact of the rule on the game overall, which in this case is certainly not worth the angst and discussion generated over it here and on other forums.

Great AAR and fun looking game!

I don't really resent the "Truscott Trot." From what I read in "There's a War to Be Won" by Geoffrey Perret, General Truscott got a hold of the Rangers manual and noted that the Rangers set their march pace at 5mph. The army march pace was 3mph.

At the time there was an argument going on in the army of whether having elite forces was desirable or not. Truscott was on the side that Elite forces only reduced the value the general rank and file, so he took the Ranger Manual to heart. A month his 3rd Infantry Division was marching at 5mph.
