Here's a sneak peek at the science caste of our upcoming alien invasion range, what are usually referred to by conspiratorially-minded terrans as "greys." Turns out, they were right!

And for comparison's sake, here they are compared to three of our upcoming SPAR operatives. Those are the elite special forces of the federal navy. (An elite within this elite, the Ravens, are the SPAR team tasked with assassination and have different VR helmets.)

Man, those are creepy! Great work! Perfect addition to some X-Files or X-Com games.

There's another set of these science caste aliens, a naval away team, with phaser like hand weapons (of completely alien design). Then there will be several sets of the war caste, who are the soldiers of the alien civilization. They are a bit different genetically.

Finally there will be the Kallinect War Robots of the war caste, who do most of the front line fighting and are a bit larger than humans. 18 poses of those!

Yes! These are very cool.

"This is SPARTEAMS!"

The Greys look very nice, any chance of a squished up one to put on the base of the SPAR Mech?

tokoloshe21 Feb 2013 7:08 p.m. PST

Very nice! Who painted them? The grays on those grays are gorgeous.

Excellent animation in the Science Caste figs. Usually Greys are depicted in very static poses.

They kind of remind me of the small aliens inhabiting the mining planet on "Galaxy Quest".

Is that Miners or Minors?

JRacel21 Feb 2013 7:53 p.m. PST

KJdidit22 Feb 2013 9:58 a.m. PST

Does this mean we'll finally have an opportunity to purchase some SPAR mechs, Jon?

Insomniac22 Feb 2013 10:46 a.m. PST

Are they sculpted by Tengu Miniatures because they are the spitting image of the 28mm versions?:

If they are then this may well be my first Khurasan order.

Insomniac22 Feb 2013 12:21 p.m. PST

Well, it would appear that I am safe to order these… Iain at Tengu sculpted them :)

Brillient work. What colors were used for the skin?

Grey? wink

Trojan Points23 Feb 2013 9:52 a.m. PST

OK the SPAR guys are definitely kicking the SEALs out of my Near Infinity PanOcenian Army (but those won't have any trouble finding employment somewhere else, Ariadna maybe?)

iain blackstone26 Feb 2013 3:31 p.m. PST

What colors were used for the skin?
Humbrol enamel black undercoat, then vallejos, base colour cold grey, layers of cold grey/stonewall grey, final highlights mix of stonewall and off-white. Probes were ghost grey.

artbraune26 Feb 2013 4:15 p.m. PST

Depending on the kind of probe – might not stay that color for long… 8^P

All the recent previews and the pace I've been clearing off my painting station… let's just say I hope you put the store back up soon!
