I know of a number of books about allied escort vessels. Are there any works available about the Japanese escorts?

I know there were a number of types, Shimushi, Etorofu, Mikura, Type C and Type D, but I want to find something that covers them all.

Too much info on one or two monsters, but so little on the smaller working ships.

Warships of the Imperial Japanese Navy, 1869 – 1945

covers them but there isn't much. A listing of ships and descriptions with a tiny bit on what happens to them.

A few photos and some line drawings

Maybe some old copies of Jane's will have something useful.

Have you tried Combined Fleet?

Combined Fleet website is great and I have visited it quite often. If anything it has encouraged me to try to find out more.
