….against Venice, in the C16th & C17th against Hungary, Poland, C18th & C19th wars with Austria & Russia, against Napoleon and Russia & Britain… also fought with the Mamelukes and with Russians again in the 19th…
20th century sided with axis of Germany/Austrian lots to choose from and so that`s why this is cross-posted to all these groups. |

It's too small and specific a topic. If there was sufficient interest in Middle Eastern and South Asian warfare, I could see a general board on those topics. But let's face it – There isn't the interest, the volume of posts or the available resource material to justify it. |

No, it will not add to everyones awareness of the period(s). Just the opposite. Because it will only get two posts a month if that. If you are not already interested in it, then you will not go to that board. If you want to increase everyones awayness then don't segregate it to another board where no one will ever read it. It is bad enough having rules specific boards but now someone wants a nation specific board covering many periods! Makes no sense whatsoever. Whats next a board, dedicated to all the wars Belgium participated in every period? That can get out of hand quickly. |

I'm sufficiently interested in furniture that I'll look at Ottoman threads in the period fora I follow, but not enough to look at an Ottoman-centric forum. If a such is created, stuff I might otherwise have seen will end getting posted there and not crossposted anywhere, and so I'll miss it. Which isn't necessarily a problem for me, but it certainly wouldn't add to my awareness of things Ottoman. |
