Ok, they are still on the workbench; but we couldn't resist sharing these beauties.
The Great AZ is finsihing the third figure of this new pack, and hopefully they will be ready for supply by mid March.
If we reach the needed target we will keep on expanding our Raging Grognards at Plancenoit.

Hope you like them.

Breathtaking, what great looking 28mm miniatures.

I bought the command group, they are nicely sculpted however they are not cast with a base. Therefore I have found them difficult to attach to a standard wargaming stand.

Cheers guys.
Thanks for the comments.
Raglan: The figures go without a base, becasue this way they are more flexible for vignette or diorama purposes. If they are for display CCC glue should be sufficient and safe to place them. If they are for gaming and require heavy handling I think the best thing to do is to drill and pin. Anway, this is the best option for both cases.

I was not planning another unit of Guard Grenadiers….but when this range includes a few more figures I will be.

These are magnificent figures. I have the command set, and will get the rest to form an impressive set of Old Guard. The figures will be for gaming, so pinning and creative protective basing is essential. These are heroic size 28s, and wonderfully sculpted and cast. Angel provides a useful size comparison on his site.

I really like your miniatures. Do they come with separate heads?

ONIRIAMINIATURES16 Feb 2013 3:20 p.m. PST

Some figures do have separete heads.
The officer and the drum mayor of the firsst set, and the two grenadiers of this second set (no sapper separete head by now)
If we release another set to add to these two (depending on popular demand) we will then make packs of spare heads (that would be 9 different heads)

They are wonderful sculptures, but they are "3 ups" surely. No criticism. They are superb, anatomically.

I can never understand how folk can spend hours on painting and layering and dry brushing and dipping and inking and varnishing a 28mm figure and then worrying if it is £2.00 GBP or £4.00 GBP or £6.00 GBP At our UK minimum wage, the outlay on the figure is chickenfeed compared with the time put in.

These master figures are the best I have ever seen in Napoleonics, but you cannot produce this in 28mm. Metallurgy does not allow that.

They will still be the best ever, mind you.

Tell me I am wrong and I will eat humble pie…….

ONIRIAMINIATURES17 Feb 2013 3:04 a.m. PST

Hello deadhead.

Thanks a lot for your coments. But:

Start swallowing mate ;)
You are totally wrong.

I haven't got these masters in my hand right now because the modeller is finishing the set. If I did I could attach a picture of a figure besides a ruler to prove you are wrong.

I have attached pictures of the first set, but I just need you to velieble that this second set figures are the same in size (it would be stupid from us if they weren't)
See also how they mix with other manufactures:

Regading the casting quality, I dont' want to give a biased answer so maybe someone from this forum that has bought the figures may want to give us his thoughts (for godd or for bad).
As they say that seeing is believing maybe you'd like to place and order of these two sets

oniriaminiatures@hotmail.com

If they let you down in any way we would have no problem in crediting you back the costs of figures an shipment ;)

Munch, gulp, swallow…………..incredible casting. Actually this humble pie is quite tasty.

I hope you prosper and the range continues to expand

Thought about it over an extremely good Sunday Lunch. How important it is to support you guys, who are getting started. "Easy" (not really I know) for the Perrys, but when you, or Westfalia say, have only a few figs to get you going…it must be murder.

The economic climate sucks, but each of your figures costs less than a Starbucks coffee…and, let's face it, one choice is rubbish and weak/watery……..one is unique.

Come on folks….let's support these new guys and recapture Plancenoit with the Old Guard or hold the woods with Westfalian Hanoverians.

We did see the alternative in the 90s. Lines of characters, all the same, all looking like Gimli (is that his name?) from that weird three part film, with great battle scenes and transformed once re-released without director's cuts.

I apologise. I admit it. OK, maybe I was wrong…….and yet, in 28mm, this is stretching what is possible. That Grenadier in the bicorne…does he not have a left cataract?
Does not the drum major have a right Bell's palsy? Has not the officer a filling on his right upper 4th? Surely not possible in 1815……..

Amazing. Excuse my Irish sense of humour……despite 59 years in Queen Elizabeth's UK!

ONIRIAMINIATURES17 Feb 2013 12:21 p.m. PST

No need to apologize Deadhead. In fact saying that these "greens" were "3 ups" is one of the most ego-pumping and encouraging compliments ever made to Onira Miniatures'.
My two other mates and I started this Oniria Miniatures thing because we love small scale historical figures and we felt that a quality leap in terms of sculpting should be taken with 28mm historical figures.
Nothing against the other existing figures (I have done most of my work with them), but we personally prefer this more realistic and proportioned style. We do hope that there are enough people out there that feel the same, and that we can continue releasing these figures.
