Since we launched the kickstarter 7 days ago to create the 15mm ZAS Mercs range we have had a massive response so a big thankyou to all of you that have pledged.

So far we have hit every goal we have set with all the ZAS infantry going into production alongside the Strike Hawk and Galacia VTOLS.

Take a look here at whats going on with the Campaign

Yikes 2 people alone almost met your entire goal!
You have many staunch fans, that speaks volumes!

GL not needed it seems!

:D

Pledged for a couple of the big VTOLs and one of the little ones… and whatever JBR is going to make! grin

They look nice enough to inspire me to try 15mm SciFi :)

John Bear Ross14 Feb 2013 11:49 p.m. PST

Welcome! You will find a vast plethora of legacy 15mm sci-fi stuff, as well as some wonderful things we've whipped up during the last few years.

Yes, I said plethora. :P

JBR

I wonder what they are going to add next as most of the force is already there..

Walkers & PA perhaps?

Craig Grady15 Feb 2013 4:50 a.m. PST

If we next the 6k stretch the 7k stretch with be to create walkers

No surprise that you're seeing a lot of success here. If anything, I'm surprised more established 15mm companies don't crowdfund minis range expansions like this. Excellent way to determine market interest.

Just don't make the common mistake of letting the money pouring in lead you to promising more than you can deliver on schedule. It's easy to get carried away, when sometimes it's better for all concerned to just say enough is enough.

McWong7315 Feb 2013 2:36 p.m. PST

Just backed for three Galicias, they look great.

John Bear Ross15 Feb 2013 5:05 p.m. PST

You are going to like the 7K stretch goals. Trust me.

I see a little silhouette-o of a mech,
Scaramouch, Scaramouch…

;)

Here are the silhouette shots of the next stretch goal. This is the Blackguard fire support variant. The Ravager jump assault variant should be up soon. I love 'em, but I'm biased, of course.

Alright, no more teasing! CMG has given me permission to post up the full renders and line-art screen shots of the Blackguard Merc Mech.

Very impressive! Those look dangerous!

JBR your intro words paraphrasing Queen were exactly what I thought when I saw it and then read what you posted.

There are not enough paper towels to clean up the coffee I just sprayed all over my work station.

That is one sexy mech, especially given my love for the Robotech Excalibur. And is that a top hatch that might be suitable for a crew half-figure?

This is probably money I shouldn't spend with a baby due in the next couple months. Eh, who am I kidding – he'll enjoy these too when he's a bit older. :)

Really looking forward to that 7k stretch goal so I can tack on a couple of these.

John Bear Ross19 Feb 2013 9:26 a.m. PST

Thanks for the kind words, gents.

Chris, these have closed hatches. A single plunge with a drill bit, a hatch made from a small plastic bit, and you'd be in business, though.

And I admire your "investment" on behalf of the next generation! That's how I justify a lot of my purchases to She Who Must Be Obeyed: "But, honey, the boy can play with it, too!" ;)

Best,
JBR

clkeagle19 Feb 2013 9:58 a.m. PST

Works for me – didn't think a separate hatch would be part of the casting.

I've never thought about this before, but you could make some fun faux-blueprints with the line-art views:

I just backed this kickstarter. My first kickstarter ever. :) The Company Commander level is a lot of minis for the price.

Thanks!

I really like that blueprint! Great idea.

John Bear Ross19 Feb 2013 5:11 p.m. PST

Excellent idea. Chris, I'm going to have to emulate that, if you don't mind.

Instant Technical Readout art! Whoo-hoo!

Definitely, and even some artwork potential for rule supplements and what not. Years of using AutoCAD's "HIDE" command… and it never crossed my mind to make a blueprint out of it until today.

Pledge level just peaked over (again) £7,003.00 GBP! The mechs are a go!

JBR

OctaChaz22 Feb 2013 8:28 a.m. PST

I'd be interested in a pledge level that lets me get hold of some of those mechs. Then again, I want the VTOLs as well. And maybe some troops to go with them…

I should avoid this forum while I have deposits to pay… Haha.

Blog Update for a new command turret I whipped up for the Zas armored forces is up.

I like how I was able to incorporate the Zas logo as a design element of the new turret.

Enjoy!

New Zas Drones have been announced. Each platoon is assigned one in support, per the TO&E.

These models will be detailed, yet tiny. 11mm in span across their hexagonal hulls.

The pics have been thankfully censored by the Ygs Directorate of Mercenary Oversight, so as to avoid embarrassing explanations of why their own drone was included in the intelligence spy shots.

Here's the latest contribution of mine towards the soon-to-end CMG Kickstarter effort for their Zas mercs.

I created a new pair of weapons for the Blackguard and Ravager mecha. This fulfills the 10K stretch goal that was just reached.

Lots more at my blog. link

Well, I go and make that post, and then CMG releases even more weapons. The Loaded For Bear stretch goal includes an additional pair of weapons between the Ravager and Blackguard.

There's also a sneak peek at some modularity tests using a couple of Ygs and Astagar weapon arms on a Blackguard mech. Pics at the link above.
