I'm not sure if the fine folks at TMP would be interested in this, but I've started a series of posts over at enworld covering my efforts at building and painting a collection of fantasy minis on the cheap. The idea isn't to paint the finest figures with the highest artistry, but to use affordable materials and simple techniques to make table-ready minis that still look good. As such I'm breaking a lot of quasi-rules: 1/72-20mm instead of 28-32mm scale, plastic (when possible) instead of metal, craft paints instead of hobby paints, and dipping instead of inking.

I'm doing much the same, buying Caesar plastic fantasy figures, along with Dark Alliance figures. They're great looking, decent poses, in a fair variety, all for very little cash. They're a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

What do you intend to use them for? RPGs? Skirmish? Mass battles? Dungeoncrawls?

Your welcome, Sergeant!

The original motivation was to have minis for RPGs, though skirmishes and the like would certainly be a possibility.

Thanks for posting, always good to see what somebody else is doing in 1/72 fantasy stuff.

Thanks Ron! Like I said at your blog, your work is a big inspiration for this project.

If you run across any 1/72 werewolves that could pass for a modern setting (either no clothing or just ripped pants/shirt), post it here, would you?

1/72 multiverse (which is another fantastic resource for this project) has a post that includes some info on werewolves.

Little Dead Riding Hood is a Twilight Creations game that includes 25 "zombie wolves" that look more or less like what you're looking for. Aside from the price of the game, I'm also not certain that the figures are in the same scale as, say, the Bag O Zombies figures that Twilight also makes. If they are, then they'd be perfect for 1/72.

There are also werewolves in games like MageKnight and Horrorclix, but those things are so erratically scaled, and I've never seen them in person, so it's hard for me to say if they'd work or not.
