I cast these last summer and painted them up last week. I like them.

Their Orc molds are good, particularly the Heavy/Armored Orcs mold. I had a bunch of PA molds, cast up a bunch of figures with them. We did a Tolkien's "Battle of Five Armies" game, years ago, and the rules we used called for 60 Wolves… Out came the PA Goblin Wolf Rider mold, and away I went in casting.

I have adapted some Caesar Fantasy Miniatures Goblin figures (1/72 scale, around 22mm tall) to ride some of those 60 wolves I have. They work great, and give some variety in poses. I'm still a huge fan of PA molds, even though I sold off my collection of them. I am getting back into true 25mm figures, particularly for Goblins, and Orcs, for my BattleSystem games. It is hard to beat the price on the PA molds and figures. The quality is not that bad, and the price is ridiculously low, if you make 50+ castings from each mold.

These look great. Hope you cast up an army while you're at it! The PA molds are great for building armies on a shoestring budget. Cheers!

Curious, but has anyone ever tried using resin instead of metal? Seems like it would be a slightly safer alternative…

Damon.

I would think that the advantage of metal over resin for home casting is that metal can be melted down and poured again while at best miscast pieces could become either conversion fodder or a casualty marker.

Resin is incredibly nasty stuff gives off toxic fumes – actually worse than lead and it REALLY stinks !

These turned pretty well, I'd prefer to have more pose options though. How hard would it be to convert?

I love Prince August, but they really need to step up theior game and release some new molds. Those goblins look dire, and they need to release more, in more poses, and with better detail.

Really I wonder with the explosion in plastic sprues we've seen, why anyone would still use Prince August, unless you really love 25mm.

For 25mm skeletons you have GW's Army of the Dead for Lord of the Rings, they've got Moria Goblins and the new Escape from Goblin Town goblins, you can get plastic Orcs now from a variety of manufacturers…

I want to get in on this, I just don't see the point.
