What scale? Which vehicle?

Coyotepunc and Hatshepsuut04 Feb 2013 8:58 p.m. PST

I am pretty sure (but don't quote me) that the scale is 1:56.

It's American, and folks will have to figure it out, but it will be pretty apparent once I add the turret ;-)

Scale is 1:56

Is it that Marmon-Harrington tank they sold a truck-load to Mexico?

Schogun05 Feb 2013 5:33 a.m. PST

I think Jakar's got it.

Interesting factoid:

As the turrets did not have all-round traverse, the M-H came in two versions, one with the driver to the left (CTLS-4TAY) and the other with the driver to the right (CTLS-4TAC). This way the tanks could operate in mixed pairs and film footage of training exercises in the Dutch West Indies shows just that.

So Brent -- you have to do two versions! ;-)

Will you eventually add this as a kit to your Interwar line of vehicles?

On LAF, Brent said: "I'm not sure if this will be a future Company B model. I guess we'll see if folks actually want one or not."

deldietch05 Feb 2013 8:51 a.m. PST

Yep.. I may have to do two versions. That way they can crash into each other.

As for getting them into the lineup, it depends. If we can sell enough to cover the costs, then yes. If not, then it gets painted up and added to my shelf!

I for one am in need of Marmom-Harrington CTL-3M, CTL-3TBD, and CTL-6 for the USMC. If war had come sooner they would have been the only Marine tanks prior to shipments of M-2s and M-3s.

Disco Joe05 Feb 2013 12:12 p.m. PST

I would buy it if you make it.

Progress for Day2: Added the start of the turret, and some of the larger detailing.

I've always wondered how the designers expected the crew to aim and fire all of those machine guns in anything resembling an efficient manner… Somehow I can't help but visualize this machine with added spikes and a bright red paint job for WH40KRT space orks…evil grin

The photos I have seen rarely show full armament. One wonders how all machine gun positions on the M-2 and M-3 light tanks were expected to be aimed as well.

more minor updates…

MG port covered under the turret, view ports added a,d more details worked in. Getting close to the fine tuning stage and adding all the rivets. racks and suspension will be next.

I hope this makes it into production. Would love a couple.
