I recently took advantanage of Northstars sale (1/2 price at £12.00 GBP a box) to pick up some Defiance games USMC miniatures to use as Imperial Guard proxies. There not bad minis though I don't like the heads and plan to swap them out with some heads I picked up on ebay from Anvil industries. I plan to make a IG drop troopers army out of them.
Anyway while I wait for the new heads I thought I knock up some test pieces with some bits from my bits box.
This officer has a Hersey miniatures officer upgrade pack head and arms
This guy has a catachan head and a GW lasgun barrel attached to his gun
Finally this guy has a Hersey sniper rifle cut and shunted on to his gun and another catachan head

These are very cool, and I really like the drop troop heads! |

Very nice, I like the paint scheme you used, and the weapons swaps look good also. I think the GW las-barel attached to the stock defiance gun looks great. Just having the right muzzle on a gun can really bring a figure into the 40k universe. |

The GW heads are huge on those bodies. I have a box of the Defiance marines myself and I have to say, I am not particularly happy with them as miniatures or as money spent
.. I look forward to Defiance pulling their heads out of their asses and getting the rest of their kits out though. Especially the bugs they have now and their planned hardsuits and German mech. Your paint work and modifications of the rifles are lovely though. |

My Germans have been one of the most expensive purchases last year. From the one box I bought, assembled and primed four. That is as far as I got. The time it took to glue the figures with super glue, and the stiff unnatural poses, I could not be bothered to paint them. For that price I should have bought Pig Iron near future. Those would have been painted and based. |

I like the weapon conversions. The sniper rifle would look better with a bipod. I'd like to see the rest when your head bits arrive. |
