I'm interested in painting the 3rd Line infantry regiment, I'm using the napitalia site for reference. What is a good green from either Vallejo Model Colors or GW paints for the green that the Italians would've worn or used for their flag? It seems to be a medium green, but I can't put my finger on it! Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I would perhaps use the GW Catachan green as a base and then lighten it up with same mixed with a bit of white. Might pay to experiment. Let us know because I want to paint some Italians as well:)

After 1807/8 Italian line infantry wore white – save you some heartache !

Actually GT I'm speaking of the green for the facings, like the 3rd has green labels, cuffs and piping.

I used Russian Green for the 1st Line Regiment and they turned out just fine.

Try this. A lot of information. In my opinion the green you are looking for is a sort of grass green.

Thanks to you all! I'll try the Russian Green & the Catachan Green, see which one I like the most!
