Great diorama Armand.

But given your personal experience, what do you think of this as a subject for a model?

Tango0103 Feb 2013 10:10 p.m. PST

Well my friend, as I had said at my thread I had studied it a little time but in detail.
Of course, it's very difficult to put in a little dio the exactly situation of a battle if you were not there, but I had to admit that this is a very good diorama.

If I had to point something is that "we" looks like so much clean (smile). Ours uniforms were in rags at the end, our war material no good too ( we could not do weapons maintenance for lack of materials), I had never see a soldier with so much ammo pouches. Usually we had one or two. But maybe the Marine Infantry which had very good equipment looks like those miniatures.
I had no memories also for a british cammo so yellow, but maybe I had not paid much atention to that.

About the trench, there were many like this one, but mostly were really bad made. Sand bags, I don't remember. We used rocks mostly.

But take note that I was only one man and his own (tiny?) experience in a big battle.

Thanks for ask my friend.
Hope I have satisfied your question.

Thanks for this Armand,

I've always been interested (or worried) how veterans view the efforts of modellers or wargamers that relate closely to their particular conflict. No doubt there would be as many different answers as people.

You seem to be a very philosophical man Armand,

Thanks for your kindly words my friend.
If you don't take your war experience a little philosophical, you ended mad! (smile).

Had to admit that for 10 years I was REALLY mad.

Very nice dio, what scale is it? The camo is a bit yellow, they dad have that colour but in the jungle camo a bit to thin for down south I have been told.
