And you thought Shapeways was only for 3D printing of minis?

Michael Schmidt and Francis Bitoni will be unveiling a fully articulated 3D printed gown.

And you thought Shapeways was only for 3D printing of minis?

Oh, never. There's a video around of Jay Leno casting a part for his Stanley Steemer, and a 3d printer is step two in the process.

They've been doing custom fitted bathing suits for a while.

That doesn't sound remotely comfortable…..

And I hate Shapeways for miniatures. Everything from there looks like garbage, even after carefully filing and scraping away the extra crap from it.

Someone had to say it.

Wolfprophet, I agree and have been scratching my head about that stuff and the price of it also?

Funny, I had a figure printed in the ultra detailed, after a single coat of paint it had no visible artifacts.

The detailed was grainy, but even that was reduced after one coat.

Anyways, the proof is in the pudding so to speak (Yes this is a simple model, I made it for Super Dungeon Explore, forgive the mediocre casts, these were my first cast miniatures)

I know a lot of companies are doing it and you likely don't even know it.
