Even a cursory keyword search shows at least two free download games, and that's not counting the "Fox Hunt" superspy parody game. There are probably many more out there, and they're probably all as godawful lousy-looking as the first ones I turned up. Fox & Hounds is a mildly well-known old-fashioned boardgame played on a checkers board, and my copy of Hoyle's has rules to play. There was also a different Fox & Hounds boardgame by Parker Brothers, but it was made back in the early 1900s and goes for a mint on the collectables market. Much more recently, we have Tally Ho!, which isn't really what you're probably after, but does have faxes and hunters – and bears.

The only games my search found were the above mentioned spy game and some sort of variant of mine sweeper with a fox hunting theme. Not quite what I am after.

Also many hunting simulators include foxes but that is not quite the same thing either although such games also have their uses.

Hadn't even considered board games but thanks for the link.

I'm surprised there's no statistics based fox hunting, to go with all the other sporting 'games' recently posted by TCS.

There was a game in one of the magazines about fox-hunting with Wellington in the Penninsula, IIRC. Long time ago, though…

Yes, I remember that one…mid 80's I think?

We played the aforementioned officers on a fox hunt game a while back -- it was good fun for a group. We played it a half dozen times or so.

IIRC, the Peninsular fox-hunting game was by Graham Evans, and was called 'Old Charlie' – a period term, being a reference to the politician Charles James Fox.
It was probably in Miniature Wargames, but I'm not sure.
