I'm after a couple of these 1/285 original sculpt Locust light mechs, the original chicken walker, anybody know of possible sources, preferably UK or reasonable international postage rates?

Or wish to trade?

Here's an example of the model i'm after

Many thanks

These are collectible. Many have suffered damage to the chin-gun or lost the two machine-gun pods. You'll notice in the photo that this one is missing one or two of the machine-gun pods. It would socket into the hole just above the red Kurita symbol.

With all the parts, be prepared to pay $20 USD or more.

Ouch, cheers for the heads up on that, plan b required methinks

Yep Ebay is the best bet for these. Note there has been in the past a lot of recasters. the other option would be to get the Project Phoenix version and call it close enough…

Damon.

$20 USD???? Wow, I charge 6-8 depending on whether they are complete or not. I have a bunch that have no parts. I can do trades as well. PM if you are interested.

Wish they could license the Japanese versions.

FASA did license the Macross designs.

Problem is, Harmony Gold was sold a license that the seller didn't own, thought they had total control of US use of the designs, and the court case was finally slammed in HG's face after years of litigation (I want to say 2009!).

FASA dropped the LAMs and all the Macross designs well before they won the case, and hasn't seen fit to either renew the license or commission unique designs from Kawamori.

The Japanese versions of Battletech, not the original Macross stuff. When Battletech was licensed back to Japan it was obvious they couldn't use the Macross etc designs, so the original studio (Nue) did all new renditions of the derived Mechs for the Japanese edition.

I see my picture link is ailing, so here's the site I was pointing at: link

Ah, yeah those are a lot cooler.

Locust:

Weird, after I went to the site you were pointing at, that picture showed up just fine…

Marauder looks like a total beast:

The "Locust" is originally the "Ostall" drone from Crusher Joe, while the "Samurai" and "Corsair" aerotech fighters were the "Harpy" and "Siren" fighters from the same anime flick:
