Anyone know why they were published by the Army and not the Navy? |

I have reprints of the German and Japanese ones. I'd like to get my hands on the Brit one and they made a few others. Don't know if they ever reprinted those, though. |

The Army was charge with air defense at Pearl Harbor and the Philippines. These were intended for use by bomber pilots. Love the understating of the Yamato class, and the "pocket battleships", which didn't exist. |

That would make sense for the Japanese manual. But not for the British,US,German and French ones. I don't think we were expecting an attack from them LOL. Robert |

We many not have been planning to attack the British and French, but it helps to be able to identify them so the pilots DON'T attack them. I forgot to mention patrol planes also used these. |
