The Phillipines has said that it will be requesting international arbitration against China, who is claiming the whole South China Sea as her international waters, despite competing claims from many other nations in the same region.

The Phillipines has apparently not been able to make any headway in direct negotiations with China on the issue.

No doubt, more nations will probably be chiming in with their claims as well.

In response to China's claim over the South China Sea, I'm asserting my right to all of China based on my historical tendency to control them in games of Axis & Allies.

Okay, I'll recognize that, but I want part of it too, since I usually try for at least a portion of Asia when playing RISK as well.

I'd like the warmer, coastal areas, and any adjacent offshore islands as well. You can never have too many private islands.

I had a government teacher in high school who claimed the throne of Mexico based on a family claim. For some reason the Mexican government begged to differ.

That's a deal, Mako, especially if we agree to watch those guys holing up in Australia. They always build up a huge army and then run the board.

I claim Hong Kong, based on my ownership of a Replay Baseball team in the 1980s called the Hong Kong Flu.

They have been contesting it for decades.

Yes, but to request international arbitration is new.

Sorry Ken, that's one of the islands I've claimed.

However, I'd be happy to provide you with very reasonable, long-term lease terms……

Wonder how much it costs to file a claim for arbitration?

*checks pockets*

I have forty-eight cents, one button, and some lint. Can I afford arbitration?

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER23 Jan 2013 10:00 p.m. PST

I want Kamchatka!

Klebert L Hall24 Jan 2013 7:27 a.m. PST

Yes, but to request international arbitration is new.

New and useless.

I have forty-eight cents, one button, and some lint.

Why is it people always have buttons in their pockets? I never do.
