We had a great time at Siege this weekend and came up with some great new armies… But I had some very interesting conversations. One of the things that sticks out from this weekend and the last couple of weeks emails, is armies for Mighty Armies.

For some reason, there is a large percentage of players that think they can only use Rebel or Splintered Light Minis for thier armies. Seriously, with a few exceptions all of the store games that we have been to or gotten photos from and even the tournaments are using offical minis.

First off, thanks for buying the miniatures :)

But, let me say this: You can use any minis you want to build the armies :) That is why we have the build your own army list. As long as the points are correct this will be legal in all events and Tournaments.

So, to help this along and get your creative juices flowing, we are going to put out an army list book for Fantasy(all kinds of Fantasy). Now these will suggested armies and all of them are customzible. You want a Dracula Army? What about a Alien army? How about a Steampunk Army? John Carter Army? The book will have all kinds of lists…

Over the next few weeks we will be taking submissions that will go along with the ones we are doing in house. To submit an army, email us at sales@rebelminis.com with Mighty Armies in the header. If we use your army, we'll post your name with it so you can impress your friends with tales of High Adventure :)

And.. In a few weeks we will announce a contest for Most Creative Army and Nicest painted army. Winners will get $100 USD each store credit… and you guys will vote for the winners!

Another note. MA is a fun, fast play game. We have alot of players that want to add more complexity and tweak some of the rules. That is great! So, we will also be publishing a free download PDF of what we are calling advanced rules. I'll have more on that as we get some of the testing done.

a Few Bits:

We have been very happy with all the MA books. We are about to do our 6th run of hard copies for MA. We should have them in a couple of weeks. The PDF's are selling extremely well and we are looking to get those up on Amazon Kindle over the next few months.

Sometime over the summer, we will be taking submissions for Demo teams. We'll have more on that soon.

Quite right. I play Might Armies in 10mm and haven't bought a single one of your figures (I'm sorry to say) but love the rules. Look forward to the advanced rules and will have a couple of armies to submit myself.

Could you update the QRF sheet on the Rebel minis site, though? It has a typo in the shooting table that splits the 3 categories in to 0, 2-3 and 4-5+, when they should, of course, be 0-2, 3-4, 5+. Minor niggle, but it vexes me every time….

I'm happy to hear about progress on more MA goodness! I need to finish up some Orc infantry for my Orc legion. But I did find a bunch of painted Hun Cavalry that'll come in handy.

Thanks,

John

This all sounds great Mike!
Can't wait to see what sort of Advanced rules end up getting looked at (maybe something more specifically for monsters?)

All the best mate.
Cheers,
Ben.

MA seems to be getting more developed over. Time which is great news, got the PDF, got loads of lead, even got some opponents (the kids), just need the time from work now! Looking forward to pushing the lead around and rolling some D6
